Keisha Castle-Hughes is a Hollywood actress from New Zealand. She first found fame in 2002 as the lead of the film Whale Rider. Her performance here earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, making her one of the young stars to have received the nomination. A few years later, she appeared as Queen Apailana of Naboo in the Hollywood film Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. She next portrayed Mary in The Nativity Story. Her next role was in the Australian film Hey Hey It’s Esther Blueburger.

She later starred in the movie A Heavenly Vintage and on the TV film Piece of My Heart. In 2010, she made her television debut on Legend of the Seeker. From 2011 to 2013, she starred as Gaia on the New Zealand series The Almighty Johnsons. She was then cast for the role of Obara Sand on Game of Thrones, which she played from 2015 to 2017. She also had a role in the 2014 film Queen of Carthage, as well as starred as Donna Mancini on the Showtime series Roadies. In 2017, she starred in the film Thank You for Your Service. Her latest role was as Tabby on the miniseries Manhunt: Unabomber.

The 28-year-old actress sticks to a healthy diet. She does so as means of staying both physically and mentally healthy; having revealed that she suffers from a bipolar disorder. In an interview, she shared about how she manages it and how clean diet is part of that. She said: “It still affects me, but I’ve found ways to manage. For me, what works is therapy and keeping fit. It’s awfully boring, but it’s about exercising and eating well. Of course, you’re going to feel s* if you’re sitting on your butt and eating bad food. It sounds simple, but I still slip up.”
